How to Create Realistic Blush Patterns

Supplies Needed:

  • Premixed Blush Paint
  • Mushroom Sponge
  • Jumbo Blush Texture Mop
  • Medium Blush Texture Mop
  • No2 Crease Shader
  • Pat Secrist from Doll secrist Company created two new brushes: Jumbo and Medium Blush Texture Mop. These are used to produce a blush pattern comprising of small dots and lines, which are similar to the capillary vessels within baby’s skin.

This effect can be incredibly realistic. Its very easy to do and most effective when you build up in layers.

    Step 1
Put a tidy bit of Pre-mixed Blush paint onto the paint palette. Using a Mushroom Sponge pounce the fresh paint into a thin film. Realistic Blush Tutorial Realistic Blush Tutorial

    Step 2
Then pounce the Jumbo Blush Mop into the paint to load it. Whilst avoiding the face apply the paint to the head in a random pattern using a light pouncing action.

    Step 3
Load the smaller Medium Blush Texture Mop. Using the Medium Blush Mop we will apply the blush paint to the face and limbs in a light pouncing action as before.
